Satellite Systems Engineer


The satellite systems engineer will participate in all technical functions of the satellite engineering group including systems engineering, health monitoring, performance analysis, and anomaly resolution. He/ she will be responsible for maintaining the operational availability and performance of a subset of the ORBCOMM satellite constellation. He/ she will have cognitive responsibility for one or more of the following satellite subsystems:  ACS, EPS, C&DH, Thermal/Mechanical, RF Communications.  Typical duties include:

  • On-call support to maintain the health and availability of the ORBCOMM satellites
  • Verifying compliance to operational constraints
  • Analyzing short- and long-term data trends
  • Developing/maintaining tools to model, verify, and improve responsible subsystems
  • Supporting development of next-generation constellation satellites
  • Supporting launch activities
  • Performing anomaly resolution

U.S. citizenship (or legal permanent residence) and a BS in Engineering or related discipline is required.

Experience with satellite systems, Matlab, Simulink, UNIX, STK, C++, PERL is desirable. 

Title (Associate, Engineer, or Senior) will be commensurate with experience. 

Position is located in Dulles, Virginia.
