Laird Technologies' new Orbcomm Phantom® VG antenna offers field diversity technology, which provides a full spherical radiation pattern that overcomes nulls and gaps found in a conventional whip-style antenna. This leads to better connectivity and higher data rates, especially in areas such as urban canyons and rural drop off areas.
The small size allows the new Orbcomm Phantom® VG to be very unobtrusive. It can be easily mounted either vertically or horizontally, using screw on bolts or adhesive padding and is available with back or side cable exit configurations.
The RoHS compliant Orbcomm Phantom® VG is mechanically rugged and withstands tough environments including resistance to almost all weather conditions and the sun's harsh UV rays.
"Many of the typical Orbcomm antennas being used today are a stainless steel whip antenna measuring as long as 50 inches in length and are typically mounted on outside mirrors or directly on the vehicle using brackets," said Craig Somach, director of sales.
