ORBCOMM Adds More Than 25,000 Billable Subscriber Communicators in the First Quarter of 2007 Net Additions in Line with Full-Year 2007 Plan
FORT LEE, N.J.--ORBCOMM Inc. (Nasdaq: ORBC), a global satellite data communications company focused on two-way Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communications, today announced that it had net additions of more than 25,000 billable subscriber communicators on its data communications system for the first quarter of 2007, giving the company a total subscriber communicator base of more than 250,000 as of March 31, 2007. This is an increase of 11.2% over the company's subscriber communicator base of approximately 225,000 at the end of 2006.
The number of first quarter subscriber communicator additions is consistent with guidance announced by the company during the fourth quarter earnings call and puts the company on pace to come in within the guidance estimate of 150,000 to 170,000 net additions of subscriber communicators for 2007.
