Account Manager (Asia Pacific)

A little bit about the role:

ORBCOMM currently has an opening for an Account Manager who will be responsible for sales to accounts in Japan, reporting to the Director of Operations. The successful incumbent will work with a team responsible to generate revenue to support corporate financial objectives, provide customer and channel partner management, and to coordinate resources to successfully increase ORBCOMM’s market share in this region.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with the sales team in supporting new and existing customers, as well as generating new business by making outbound calls to potential channel partners;
  • Establish and execute an indirect sales strategy to ensure our success;
  • Maintain and advance key relationships and loyalty to become a trusted advisor thereby ensuring customer satisfaction and driving incremental revenue;
  • Respond to inbound inquiries regarding ORBCOMM’s products and services and support the APAC Sales Team by managing customer relationships;
  • Ensure current and accurate customer account and opportunities information is added and maintained in SalesForce;
  • Develop new channel partners;
  • Educate channel partners on the value of ORBCOMM’s products and solutions;
  • Mobilize and orchestrate internal resources to assist in trouble shooting and resolution of complex customer problems. Provide technical assistance to solve customer problems. Escalate service and technical issues proactively;
  • Provide RFP support for large sales opportunities and make joint sales calls to help the channel partner close sales;
  • Develop a deep understanding of our clients’ partnerships, growth opportunities, custom solutions, and more to ensure ORBCOMM’s products and services meet their ongoing requirements;
  • Identify, monitor and provide timely and accurate forecasts in a predictable, consistent and disciplined manner, for future sales and revenue levels;
  • Provide timely and accurate monthly sales reports to help the company increase its knowledge of what is happening on the region;
  • Provide support to and participate in various regional activities where required (i.e. trade shows, etc).

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in customer facing roles as well as a technical background with data communications and concepts and technology and as they would relate to ORBCOMM
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills including the willingness to voice opinions in a constructive/confident manner and the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Superior organizational skills and the ability to deal with constantly changing requirements and priorities
  • Fluent in business level Japanese and English language is required, ability to communicate in other languages is beneficial
  • Meticulous attention to detail
