In Hoensbroek the Euroscan product line is developed and produced. The international project management and global support of the Euroscan product line is coordinated from the head office in Hoensbroek.

As part of the Product Management team at ORBCOMM, the successful candidate will be involved with our market-leading Vertical Solutions business and IoT software applications. They will be responsible both for the management of high-volume product lines as well as the development of product roadmaps for future ORBCOMM IoT growth. This particular position will focus on ORBCOMM’s European Cold Chain and Transportation business. This is a dynamic opportunity for someone who has managed a product line and developed marketing strategies, which requires strategic planning, product design, product management, and marketing program development skills. The candidate will work closely with engineering, business development and support organizations in ensuring that the right products and solution are brought to market on a timely basis and meets the needs of the customer and end-user.

In this role, you are accountable to the Sr. Director Applications, situated in Utica (NY/USA).

What You Can Expect

Manage the strategy, roadmap and lifecycle of the IoT products and solutions for ORBCOMM’s European Cold Chain and Transportation vertical market, including fleet-management and cold chain monitoring equipment. You will have an opportunity to do the following:

  • Define and communicate the strategic product objectives, market, roadmap, technical features, pricing, positioning and promotional activities.
  • Drive the product creation process by interacting with other functional areas and influencing decision makers.
  • Develop market requirements of key products consistent with ORBCOMM’s strategic direction and product portfolio.
  • Identify and translate opportunities into product requirements, leading to new products and revenue growth.
  • Develop Go-to-Market plans, key messaging and sales collateral, supporting tradeshows in coordination with the sales and marketing teams, and attend client visits to support the sales process.
  • Provide support to sales channels and prospective customers.
  • Work with appropriate departments to ensure all applicable sales channels are trained on the wireless services and offers.
  • Analyze product requirements identified by business development, marketing and sales teams.
  • Create detailed marketing requirements documents (MRDs) and product definition to be utilized by development for scoping, development and validation.
  • Collaborate with prospects, customers and sales to understand product and user requirements.
  • Analyze workflows, assess environmental factors, and identify usage/usability requirements.
  • Develop and coordinate product documentation, road map and plans for product implementation, delivery and support.
  • Participate in all cross-functional projects and efforts aimed at finding solutions to system problems, offer solutions, and participate in testing.
  • Generate and manage customer collateral (presentations, data sheets, application notes, etc.)
  • Research and compile competitive information for use in product planning and as a resource for all organizations.
  • Support sales staff in development of proposals.
  • Create pricing templates.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.

Must-Have Skills:

  • Technology experience. Knowledge of electrical or computer hardware, firmware and software solutions with Internet of Things market experience preferred.
  • A track record of understanding markets, customers and products; defining complete product lines, and taking products from conception, bringing products to market, and successful product life cycle management through profitable revenue generation.
  • Proven ability to drive cross-group collaborative efforts on multiple projects, developing scalable and effective marketing plans, executing tactics and driving key issues to closure.
  • Strong market strategy and marketing skills. Ability to synthesize diverse information in order to develop vision and strategy for commanding a market segment.
  • Ability to research, prioritize, and clearly articulate market and customer requirements. Demonstrated orientation towards measuring results and assuming accountability for the market impact of product actions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated; ability to take ownership for assigned projects; ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Being creative and quick thinking; turning ideas into both words and pictures.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.


  • 7+ years of technical product experience, with product management experience.
  • Speak fluent English and German; French is also desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s Degree preferred.
